I started this blog to put down in words and pictures the different things that I’m learning as I continue on this journey of turning my artistic talents into a business. I’m doing this so that I have at least some kind of “blueprint” or “lessons learned” so that if I need to do it again someday in the future, I’ll already have a basic list of dos and don’ts. Starting from scratch doesn’t make any sense and trying to keep this all in my head is just silly. Also, I thought that if you’re doing the same kind of thing, perhaps you’ll find some value in what I have here.

Two things to note:

  1. This blog is a hobby, my art is the business. I don’t have a content calendar or a set schedule for writing new content here. I write when I learn something worth remembering or sharing, and when I feel it’s enough to have a whole article about it. I may at some point in the future create a single page for the short blurb lessons that don’t warrant a full post of their own.
  2. I have no expectations about this blog, and neither should you. I’m not specifically writing this for you. I haven’t organized it for you. I don’t expect this blog to become a popular destination on the web for career artists, I don’t expect any posts to go viral, and I don’t expect to monetize this blog. You shouldn’t expect regular updates, there may be months of silence. Hopefully, that means I’m busy being an artist with his shit together for the most part. If you find something useful that helps your art business generate some extra money, donate a couple of bucks to me to show your appreciation and support.
